Troas

Troas was once a large and important city on the western coast of Asia Minor. Today, it has been reduced to a few ruins overgrown by trees and shrubs. Troas was an important city in antiquity due to its location. It was situated on the Aegean Coast almost directly opposite the island of Tenedos, and thus was a major trading center.

Paul went to Troas during his second missionary journey. One night while at Troas he has a vision of a man of Macedonia imploring him to come to Macedonia and help the people there. So, Paul and his companions set sail from Troas to travel to Macedonia. Paul again visited Troas aat the end of this third journey.
