Much speculation exists as to where ancient Bethsaida is located. Currently there is a site on a hill to the north of the Sea of Galilee. There is little doubt that this location is ancient and was a significant city. Many doubt that this was Bethsaida of Christ's time because of the distance from Capernaum and the distance from the Sea of Galilee.

Irregardless if the current Bethsaida is ancient Bethsaida, we do know it was the home of the fishermen Peter, Andrew, and Philip and possibly James and John and was the site of miracles of Christ.

Matthew 11:20-22
20: Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not:
21:
Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
22:
But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.

Mark 8:22-26
22: And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him.
23:
And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought.
24:
And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking.
25:
After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.
26:
And he sent him away to his house, saying, Neither go into the town, nor tell it to any in the town.

Luke 9:10-17
10: And the apostles, when they were returned, told him all that they had done. And he took them, and went aside privately into a desert place belonging to the city called Bethsaida.
11:
And the people, when they knew it, followed him: and he received them, and spake unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing.
12:
And when the day began to wear away, then came the twelve, and said unto him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the towns and country round about, and lodge, and get victuals: for we are here in a desert place.
13:
But he said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they said, We have no more but five loaves and two fishes; except we should go and buy meat for all this people.
14:
For they were about five thousand men. And he said to his disciples, Make them sit down by fifties in a company.
15:
And they did so, and made them all sit down.
16:
Then he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them, and brake, and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude.
17:
And they did eat, and were all filled: and there was taken up of fragments that remained to them twelve baskets.

John 1:43-44
43: The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me.
44:
Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.
