Zurich


Zurich is the largest city in Switzerland. The city is Switzerland's main commercial and cultural center. Zurich has been named the city with the best quality of life in the world as well as the wealthiest city in Europe. Zurich is located where the Limmat River issues from the end of Lake Zurich and is surrounded by wooded hills.

There are countless sites to see in Zurich. There are a number of notable churches. The Grossmunster, near lake Zurich in the old city, was first built in 820 and the Fraumunster was built prior to 874. The Fraumunster was recently fully renovated. St. Peter, located in the old city, has the largest church clock face in the world. There are also numerous notable museums in the city. The Kunsthaus Zurich has one of the largest collections of Classic Modern Art in the world. Other sites in the city include Lindenhof hill, Bahnhofstrasse (the shopping avenue), the zoological garden, and the Botanical Garden.
